Relapse Prevention Manual

The Fostering Resilience Relapse Prevention Program is an outpatient group protocol integrating key aspects of relapse prevention theory, mindfulness-based meditation, and shame resilience.

Fostering Resilience Relapse Prevention is designed as a 16-session relapse prevention curriculum conducted over eight weeks in an outpatient setting. Each session is three hours in length and conducted twice a week in a group format. Groups consist of 6-10 participants (10 maximum).

This manual contains specific detailed instructions for each part of the program, along with information sheets to share, and mindfulness meditation scripts.  

Use this manual to conduct the full relapse prevention program or use the exercises to create group therapy sessions and/or to inform and guide your individual sessions with clients.

Research shows that shame is highly correlated with addiction relapse.  The more we are able to reduce shame, the lower the relapse risk becomes and the higher the overall psychological well-being.
